15 Foot Aluminium Grumman Canoe

Here I have up for auction my 15 foot Grumman aluminium canoe. These boats are highly sought after and used examples rarely come up for sale.If you are looking and know about these boats you will be aware that they are built to last and have a reputation for longevity and quality. Designed to last and perform, every Grumman canoe is hand-crafted from a special age-hardened, stretch-formed aluminum alloy substantially stronger than traditional alloys. Each Grumman Canoe is hand riveted with specially-designed T-6 Alumilite rivets for maximum strength along gunnels, keels and ribs. The stretch-forming process permanently shapes the curves designed into the bow, stern and sides for maximum strength. For added rigidity and unbeatable strength, Grumman Canoes use die-formed aluminum ribs and thwarts, and solid aluminum extruded gunnels." The outstanding build quality of these boats is deservedly legendary. This canoe is 15 feet long with a 35 inch beam.

It can carry four people or an equivalent 565 lbs in weight (256 kg). The boat was originally fitted with two seats, I have fitted a third genuine Grumman seat in the middle for the comfort of a third person or for use by a solo paddler (this can easily be removed if not required). This is a used boat, I aquired it as a retired hire boat (I think from the lake district). As such, it has character but it does not leak and it performs beautifully on the water. Included in the sale are a pair of wooden hand crafted Canadian Redtail paddles (57 and 60 inches long).

These paddles are light weight and resin tipped. I have taken good quality pictures which give a true representation of the boat's condition.
