Riveted, heat formed sheet aluminum is strong, lightweight, maintains water(air) tightness and looks good year after year. Unlike plastic which is heavy and becomes brittle under heat and sunlight, aluminum is made to last. This is a genuine Grumman aluminum canoe made by the same company that made the F-14 Tomcat fighter jet, the A-6 Intruder bomber, and the Apollo frickin lunar module.
