Grumman Canoe - Aluminium Double-End 15’ Model suitable for a maximum of 4 persons. Condition is Used. This a fantastic aluminium canoe made by the Marathon Boat Group, New York, that are no longer available new in the UK. Grumman were originally well known for making aircraft, but in 1944 canoes were developed using the company's aircraft aluminum to replace the traditional wood design. The canoes had a reputation for being sturdier, lighter and stronger than their wood counterparts and had a considerable market share.

Grumman moved its boat making division to Marathon, New York in 1952. The canoe has the patina of use - adding character, but it is watertight and runs true in the water. It is very stable and floats in the shallowest of water. Included in the sale is a removable mount for a small 5hp motor (if required), a lift out seat, 4x paddles and 3x life jackets (2 adult, 1 child). Dear Seller, I am interested in purchasing your canoe and accessories. It looks great. We our based in North Norfolk, and although I have been an enthusiastic sailor, now with two children under 6, and a dog - I think the canoe would be perfect for us to explore the marshes and paddle out to the sand dunes. Would there be any flexibility on price, I would be more comfortable paying around the £600 / 650.
