Very good condition overall, slight discoloration on the green hull from being on a hull rack, small crack on rib (see pictures), one cross support was fabricated and replaced but could use varnish, age unknown but believed to be mid 1900's.

18' Canoe by The Chestnut Canoe Company of Canada RESERVE HAS BEEN REMOVEDThis is a very nice condition 18' Chestnut canoe model "Ogilvy Grilse." (See chart in pictures.) It weighs about 90 lbs and the carry weight capacity is 1000 lbs. Construction is wood and canvas. This particular model is well suited as a fishing/hunting canoe and quite stable in the water. The flat bottom can take a great deal of abuse. You can paddle it or use a pole.

It has a transom on the back that will accommodate a small motor (not included). A transom canoe is quite rare and desirable. Includes a few oars. Great fun for groups.Length 18'Beam 36"Depth 13"Weight 90 lbsCapacity 1000 lbsWHAT'S WRONG? Not much actually.

There is slight discoloration on the green hull from being on a rack and one of the ribs is slightly cracked. There is a close-up of the crack in the pictures and it won't affect the seaworthiness. We do not know when it was built but the serial # (5776) seems low so maybe the 1960's.
