Seating: Double
Boat Type: Canoe
2 man canoe with transom for outboard. The beam is 89cm. In excellent condition, this vessel has hardly been used. I bought it for occasional fishing trips but my fishing chum has moved, so it's been hanging in the garage longing for the water. I spent many months looking for a vessel with a little transom; you can get bolton devices that hang over the edge, but they have a problem with the balance, and the thrust not being in line with the centreline of the boat.
The transom works really well. I have only used it with an electric outboard, as designed. There is a reinforced section of the hull for the battery, see pictures. Fore and aft are extremely useful and effective storage compartments for phones, dry clothes etc, with screw in watertight covers. The hull is made of fibreglass, tough as you like, and easily reparable is some disaster should befall you, unlike multi skinned polythene hulls. The hardwood gunwales are in new condition, revarnished multiple times with thinned varnish so it soaked in well.
I know since I did it. There are carrying handles built into the structure fore and aft which make carrying it a cinch for two people. There is no yoke, so to carry it singlehanded you will need a trolley which unfortunately I don't have. The canoe is light enough to pick up singlehanded, but (for me at least) only by lifting up the side, and shuffling along sideways. This is fine for getting in into and out of the garage, but not for much else. The canoe was very lightly used when I got it, and has made only two trips since I finished the varnishing before I used it.
It's not doing up any harm hanging in my garage, but I want to hang a ladder there instead! Any questions, just ask. If you want any more photos, close-ups, let me know. As you can see from the pictures the trim when you're paddling solo and the boat is empty is not right, you'll need some ballast at the front or a second paddler to settle it. You're bidding on the canoe alone.
Happy bidding, as they say.
