Canadian Plycraft Vintage Wood Canoe

This is a PlyCraft 16' laminate wood canoe. Built in Canada right after WWII. Company seems to have had a short life. I found a 1949 ad listing the 16' model for $118.00. This one obviously had a sail at one time.

It measures 39" across, 16.0 overall. Plywood formed boats (and furniture) are mostly post war. This one is in good condition with some de-laminating. Seats appear to be ash. Gunwales seem to be spruce.

I do not now if the bulkheads (ala Grumman) represent flotation chambers or not. Center thwart is broken. There is some rot on the tips. Also considerable rot on one gunwale. Has a wide and thick keel.

Has not been fiber glassed or canvassed. Thick paint instead. Buyer to pick up. It is outside now and will remain outside until you come. This is Jackson, TN.
