Chippewa Style Birch Bark Canoe

This Chippewa Style Birch Bark Canoe was built in July of 2015 in New Hampshire by Bill Novacek of Coos Canoe and Snowshoe. It measures 13' 9" long, 34" wide, 13" deep in the middle and 25" overall height. It is made using traditional native American techniques and materials - Birch bark, White Cedar, Ash, and Spruce roots. The only departure from the traditional materials is the caulking which is man-made marine caulking which is much more stable than pine pitch but looks the same. It also has two wood and rawhide seats as pictured.

This canoe is great for hanging in a lodge or it can be used as a fun paddling canoe. I have only had it in the water 2 times – head-turner and effortless paddle. I will deliver to within 400 miles free of charge. Please add $1.00 per mile beyond 400 with a maximum delivery distance of 700 miles. Feel free to ask any questions.
