Boat Type: Canoe
Seating: Double
This auction is for a double sit-on canoe that was bought 2 years ago. It was bought because of its great reviews for stability and it was considerably cheaper than other sit-on canoes we have. The canoe is in fair condition for its use, a small scuff or scrape here and there and there is a pair of small indentations on either side of the deck top where it was ratcheted down on to a roof rack too tightly. The indents are just visible in the 3rd picture on the edge in front of the black strap (not to be confused with the indents in the 4th picture which are for adding accessories). It does not appear to affect the handling or integrity of the canoe, but we are selling it because it is probably more suited to messing about family fun than long distances or being out for 1/2 a day.
Bad points :-Because it is a slightly shorter canoe, taller people will find their knees are up higher than is really comfortable for extended lengths of time.If you like the comfort of a high seat back then these seat backs are a little on the low side. There is no integral waterproof storageIts cheapness, compared to the top end canoes we have, is evident in the density/stiffness of the polycarbonate, quality of the handles etc.Good points:-It is extraordinarily stable, no-one in our group has been over in it, no matter how daft they have been.It is rated to carry 227kg (over 35 stone). It's comparative shortness for a double (3.95m) is useful if storage or transport length is worry For more details Google "Pelican Apex 130T" I will include the paddles and some weatherproof cushions (not in the photos) that make it a little more comfortable for longer stints on the water. Collection from the Northampton area, if it helps I can deliver to any address in a 20 minute radius of Northampton, please check with me before bidding. I have no idea what it will fetch so I will let the auction run, no BIN. Thanks for looking, hope the new owner gets plenty of enjoyment out of it.
