Lakelander Canoe 15ft Canoe Plans

LAKELANDER CANOE plans with or without BUILD INSTRUCTIONS. These are the plans for out 15ft Lakelander stitch and tape construction canoe. This is our very own design and has evolved through extensive builds and usage of a great number of canoes over the past 21 years of running canoe building workshops in the Lake District. Due to the nature of the evolution of the canoe the plans are drawn onto paper and will need to be transferred onto ply by cutting the shapes of the planks out and drawing round them onto the ply. We do not have the plans as a CAD or similar drawing/file.

The canoe is made up of 7 planks and is approx 33 to 38 inch wide depending on builders preference. She has graceful lines, is very stable in the water and retains a good load carrying capacity, and weighs in at only 24kgs (depending on how much resin you put on it!!) The canoe is built for two people to paddle and allows plenty of space for kit stowage, dogs, kids, picnic hampers... she can also be paddles solo. We recommend using 6mm ply with all seams taped using glass tape and epoxy resin. INSTRUCTIONS are made up of a 29 pages of pics and drawing and text to guild you though the build proses. They will be emailed as a PDF file.

We are also happy to offer e.mail or phone support any time during the build. We have build over 600 of these canoes so we know how they go together!!! We can also supply carrying yokes, cane seats, and even FULL SIZE KITS, or why not attend one of our CANOE BUILDING WORKSHOPS if you dont wish to attempt this build solo, and build this canoe in 3.5 days!!
