Mad River Canoe Royalex Explorer 15 fitted with ash kneeling thwart and carrying yolk for solo paddling and 2 factory fitted web seats for tandem paddling. Included are the 2 silver buoyancy bags, 1 black plastic paddle, Daisy chained yellow rope shown in photos, and the side lacing. See link for details on the boat dimensions and specifics from Mad River: https://www.madrivercanoe.com/eu/sites/default/files/2010_MR_Catalog.pdf It has a shallow vee hull so is very versatile and ideal for long distance touring on flat water but can also handle grade 2-3 rapids easily. I used this mainly for solo paddling as it is light weight for portage and for me to get on and off my van due to the Royalex construction. It has been used mainly on Lochs in Scotland and on the River Spey and Tay as I used to live in Aviemore, so it is in great condition.
It has some scuffs as shown in the photos but has not received any significant impact damage. It has been lovingly stored indoors upside down flat on wooden chocks in a dry garage so protected from racking and, UV and weather exposure. It is a great canoe, I'm sad to see it go but there's not much paddling around Bristol and I'm moving to somewhere without a garage, it therefore needs a new home. Collection from Bristol only. Please provide your own straps for carriage, I can help load :) More photos to follow shortly, I just need to get her out and clean her up!
Explorer series This durable series is equally at home on the river as it is on open water. The explorer Series tracks well and cruises on flat water and is seaworthy enough to handle chop, wind and waves with confidence. RoyalexTM RX Royalex is a vacuum-formed sheet laminate consisting of external vinyl lay- ers enclosing multiple ABS plastic layers and a foam core. Not all Royalex is the same. Each canoe is made of a specific Royalex sheet designed for the intended use of that canoe.
Royalex is very resistant to impact and its’ moder- ate weight makes it the preferred material for paddlers wanting to balance durability and weight in demanding conditions. It has “memory,” allowing it to distort to absorb impact and then rebound to original form after pressure is relieved. Royalex is repairable should the worst-case scenario ever occur.
