Boat Type: Canoe
Seating: Double
First off - I don't want to sell, but she says I need to get rid of some toys before replacing with new ones... A well travelled version of the great Mad River canoe. I won't bore you with its details because if you're reading this ad, I'll presume "you know"... Shows the usual signs of wear and tear for a canoe that has been well used over a period of 15+ years and still fully functioning up until last Summer. Kids have lost interest and youngest plays so much cricket that I'm falling into the 'sitting on boundary with a beer' category of favourite activities... Storage over Winter last year led to sailing and carry yokes deteriorating, Sailing yoke has been removed, carry still attached at one side, left in place for stability but will need replacing if so desired. Perfectly useable without both... Two webbing seats in good condition, doubt the rear one was hardly sat on as I always kneel, resting cheeks on edge of it only when 2 up. Perhaps only sat on when both kids took it out for a bimble on a lake... Kneeling thwart was replaced approx 4years ago, after having to be cut.
Sailing Foot was reattached at similar time. Lashing points are all present, but two need to be re-glued into place. Bungees on the Aiguille floatation blocks have come to end of working life and will need replacing, but blocks are tie-wrapped into boat so can be used as is. Blocks themselves are sun-bleached but fully functioning. Painters are also looking old, still perfectly useable but new 16m length included in sale.
3x Grey Owl Paddles included in sale, all in excellent condition;63" Plume - ideal for deep water 56" Voyageur - brill all-rounder42" Owlet - ace for when Jr wants to paddle, but also small enough to stow as a spare on expeds.Trolley is a copy of RUK, genuinely never used... as I forgot a wheel on the only trip I ever took it on! All in, this is a great package for someone to just get out & go paddle. Hopefully, it goes on a few further adventures similar to the ones my kids and I have had. This boat has done the Great Glen so many times, I'd not be surprised if it found its own way... Further pics available if required... Collection only from Manchester area please.
