Navarro Loon 17 Ft Canoe

Navarro Canoe – Loon 17 Navarro canoes are reinforced with select cherry wood, chosen for its durability and beauty. The wide variety of grain patterns assures individual character for each canoe built. The ribs are thoroughly sealed with resin and a final layer of fiberglass is placed in the bottom of the canoe to protect the floor. The upper structure of all Navarro canoes is crafted from select hardwoods, then oiled and hand rubbed to a fine finish. The seats are laced with the same nylon used for three generations and are large as well as durable.

The Loon series was designed by Bob Foote a nationally known designer and paddler and is the perfect all-around family canoe for day outings or wilderness trips. The Loon is a joy to paddle on a leisurely afternoon or it can easily handle an extended trip with plenty of room for passengers and gear. The Loon’s sharp entry lines and sleek 4” waterline combine to make a canoe that is fast and efficient. The shallow V hull offers tracking and speed. The flared sides keep out waves and splashes.

The Loon is extra deep to keep paddlers and gear dry. This is a high -end hybrid canoe composed of Kevlar and fiberglass with a beautiful cherry wood inlays and wood rails. A true beauty of a canoe that will only increase in value over the years. Specs: 17’ length; 35” width; 32” width at 4” waterline; 14.25” depth; 20” bow height; 66 lbs.; 1,000 lb. capacity. We are the original owners.

Canoe was purchased in 1996 from REI in Niles, IL. It has always been garage kept and lightly used over the years. The hull has a few minor scrapes on the sides and underside as shown in the photos. There are no patches. The interior is in great condition.

The seats and caning are also in great condition. Included are a third center seat (never mounted); motor mount designed for small electric motors; two oars; two soft side seat backs.
