Nova Craft Bob Special 15ft Canadian Canoe - Royalex Lite - Great Condition Made in Royalex Lite and weighing 27.4kg. The insides - wooden parts and seat lacing - are in excellent condition. Various wooden parts sanded and re-finished with Danish oil. New seat hangers, seats lowered by about 1cm from standard (better stability). Seat boot-lacing washed and scrubbed.

New kneeling thwart hangers. There are P-clips for air bags/blocks. I've replaced the logos and 'bird' symbol with new ones from Canada (after the photos were taken). New 10mm bow/stern loops (not in photo). I've cut about 1/2" off the ends off all of the wooden parts to remove some rot and narrowed the canoe to about 33 3/4" - about 1 1/4" less than standard - the only discernible effect is that the canoe is a little bit easier to handle, being not so wide.

There is a tiny bit (about 1cm x 2cm) where I put epoxy filler into an indent in the bows. The RX Lite has hardened with age and is very robust - to be honest, I wouldn't have known the difference between this and regular Royalex, apart from the reduced weight. Has the usual scrapes underneath and and on the sides, but nothing to affect performance. All in all, it's a lovely canoe from one of the world's best makers, and one that rarely comes up for sale. It paddles beautifully - like a mini-prospector, but quicker, and much much easier to handle than a larger canoe, especially in wind... and very few people in the UK really need a canoe as big as a prospector.
