Open Canadian Canoe

Open Canadian Canoe. Made by Capel Canoes Essex. She is a 17’ canoe. Tracks well with three paddles two wooden paddles and one spare making up the third. Myself and partner can easily lift her and put her on the car roof rack my partner is 5’6” and manages it fine.

A rare canoe as I’ve never seen another that has a look like this one and I’m always looking. She will comfortably take three adults plus enough room for all your camping gear etc if required. I bought this many years ago from a guy in Cambridge. He said to me when I picked her up that he might regret selling her. Believe me i had been looking for a canoe for a good few years and came across this little gem.

I’ve never seen one with quite the look as this one has. When out in her I often get compliments. Had intended to get it 100% mint as has good bones to be restored or up graded as is in very good shape for her age. It’s had a few poor repair or attempts to strengthen the base around the seat supports as can be seen. It has a few gel coat chips on either side as shown and spider web cracks in the gel coat which is hard to see.

Nothing shows on the inside. The chips have been resin filled. I’ve always washed and waxed in looking after her I originally lived in the north west on the west coast and used her to canoe the Leeds and Liverpool canal as there are always pubs along the way if a break is required. I’ve moved to Suffolk and am not using the canoe like I used to. It is with much reluctance that I am selling this little gem and know like the previous seller said to me he thinks he might regret it.
