Everything you need to build a great looking canoe ready to prepare for painting and/or varnishing.Kits are supplied in a high quality Lloyds registered 5 or 6mm Gaboon marine plywood to give you a lightweight canoe.

A great project to get up to 2 adults paddling after around 40hrs build time from the full kit. Ideal for a day out on the water or a camping trip. It goes together easily with a simple plank joining method to get the length you need.This kits are built using the "Stitch & Tape" method of construction. All you need to do is join the planks and bottom panel using a simple method we use in our kits or a "puzzle" type joint if you prefer, then assemble by "stitching" it all together with the cable ties. Once all the stitches are tight, the hull is aligned and checked before the epoxy is applied to the inside seams (plank joints).

Then the hull is turned over and the outer seams are taped and saturated with epoxy. Once that job is completed the hull is turned back upright and the inside seams are finished off. Then the bulkheads are glued into place and the trim is fitted along with the fore and aft decks. The inside is then prepared and painted/varnished and the hatches are fitted in their holes. Now the outside of the hull can be prepared and painted or varnished.

Once all the painting is done, make or buy a paddle and you're ready for launching. Our canoes make a great family project for everyone to get involved with.The build can take around 5 - 7 days to complete and has been done in just 4 days using fast epoxy. Most people like to take their time but, once complete, you have a brand new, lightweight canoe for less than the cost of a cheap, mass produced plastic one and you will have built it! The 12' version is ideal for a lone paddle or for up to 2 adults.If you want something smaller or larger, try our Peasemarsh 10 or 14. Note: Being a canoe, these boats do not need to be certified under the European Recreational Craft Directive (Still the standard used in the UK). However, they would be Category D, SHELTERED WATERS: Designed for use on sheltered coastal waters, small bays, small lakes, rivers and canals when conditions up to and including wind force 4 and significant wave heights up to and including 0.3m may be experienced, with occasional waves of 0.5m maximum height, for example from passing vessels.
