Load (apprx.) 580lbs (263kgs)Height at Bow/Stern 21"/21" (0.53m/0.53m)Height amidships 13" (0.33m) Crew 2/3The DIY open “Canadian” style canoe kit with built in buoyancy fore and aft that can be fitted with small hatches for storage of valuables etc while on the water.Can be built in either 4mm or 6mm plywood but both kits are supplied in 5 or 6mm marine plywood to give you a lightweight canoe.This kits are built using the "Stitch & Tape" method of construction. All you need to do is join the planks and bottom panel using a simple method we use in our builds, drill small holes in each hull part as per instructions and assemble by "stitching" it all together with the plastic cable ties. Once all the stitches are tight, the hull is aligned and checked before the epoxy is applied to the inside seams (plank joints). Then the hull is turned over and the outer seams are taped and saturated with epoxy.

Once that job is completed the hull is turned back upright and the inside seams are finished off. Then the bulkheads are glued into place and the trim is fitted along with the fore and aft decks. The inside is then prepared and painted/varnished and the hatches are fitted in their holes. Now the outside of the hull can be prepared and painted or varnished. Once all the painting is done, make or buy a paddle and you're ready for launching.

The build takes around 5 - 7 days to complete but has been done in 4 days using fast epoxy. Once complete, you have a brand new, lightweight canoe for less than the cost of a cheap, mass produced plastic one and you will have built it! The 14' version is ideal for a lone paddle or for up to 3 adults. Full Kit – all plywood parts cut out - planks, bottom panel, bulkheads, decks, and seats - but also includes epoxy materials, vinyl gloves, mixing sticks, cable ties, hatches and timber trim. This Full Standard Kit consists of all the plank sections cut out including bottom panel, 2 x ply bulkheads with hatch holes cut out, plus ply for decks ready for assembly and stitch holes drilled. Also included is all the epoxy materials required to build the hull, cable ties for stitches, the holes cut for the hatches, 2 x round watertight hatches and timber sections for the trim. Delivery time for Kits is normally 3 - 6 working days from receiving payment (we will confirm with order or contact us). All our kits are normally cut to order on next working day after receipt of payment and despatched the following day (3 days to deliver). However, if we have no plywood in stock, it will take a little longer (up to 6 days to deliver).Note!! Note: Being a canoe, these boats do not need to be certified under the European Recreational Craft Directive. However, they would be Category D, SHELTERED WATERS: Designed for use on sheltered coastal waters, small bays, small lakes, rivers and canals when conditions up to and including wind force 4 and significant wave heights up to and including 0.3m may be experienced, with occasional waves of 0.5m maximum height, for example from passing vessels.
