Sailing - Canoe Class C Sail Rig By Mad River Canoe Co.

This Class C Sail Rig was designed by James Henry, founder of Mad River Canoes. This rig should, or can be made to fit any make of canoe. It came off of a Mad River Explorer, 16 foot. I don't think it has been used very many times. It has parts lists, and instructions on how to mount and use.

The sail was designed by Mad River & McDowell Sail Co., Winooski, Vermont, and I believe is 55 sq.ft. The sail rig is in excellent condition and has been stored inside. The canoe I purchased is in excellent shape as well and the way the guy kept such great care of his things I would think that the rig has all its parts. The retail price of this sail rig was $875.00 back in around 1980. The picture of the gentleman sailing was a picture sent out by Mad River and not the exact rig up for sale. It is similar though. I am not sure how much shipping will be. The aluminum masts are about 91/2 feet long.

I think the rudder can unbolt so it should fit in about a 10' x 8" or so package. If interested, contact me and we can find the most economical way to ship. All reasonable offers will be considered. This is really a cool set up. Wish I knew something about sailing but got too many hobbies and don't need another one.
