Silverbirch Canoes Broadland 15 Hl (14'11" Canoe For 1-2 People, Space For 3)

This is a lovely well-made canoe.It is the high-line version with gunwales raised by 3cm. This makes it well suited to more choppy conditions or white water as well as leisurely paddles on calm rivers or lakes. The air bags can easily be removed when not required (which has been the majority of the time for us) or for more space in the canoe. Brand new ash gunwales, end caps, seat stays and kneeling thwart have been produced using a single piece of ash sourced on Dartmoor to beautiful effect and sealed and protected with waterproof, UV and bio resistant oil.The new seat stays are lengthened by 3cm to restore the seat height to that of a standard canoe, which adds stability in the water (when manufactured the high-line has its seats 3cm higher because standard seat stays are used). The inside of the canoe is pristine as new and marks on the hull are minimal as would be expected for a used but cared for canoe, none requiring any repair - please see photos.

This canoe comes with the upgraded 3D-sculpted ash carrying yoke, kneeling thwart, added painters and standard deck lacing and air bags (2) as shown. Designed for use by one or two people with space for a removable seat for a third person or child - great for day-trips or expeditions (the HL has more space for camping gear). This canoe handles beautifully, is stable and fast on flat water and great fun in faster water. The canoe is 14'11" long and weighs 33kg (ref. Silverbirch website).

It is made using the stiffer, lighter and more durable duraLITE (which Silverbirch say competes with the popular but no longer produced Royalex construction).
