Starcraft Aluminum Canoe, Square Stern For Motor, "portager" 16' 780 Lbs Max

Offered here is a very nice VINTAGE STARCRAFT ALUMINUM CANOE, MODEL PORTAGER 16", WITH A SQUARE STERN FOR MOUNTING OF A SMALL MOTOR. This STARCRAFT CANOE'S SERIAL NUMBER IS: 68-7527. I am guessing, but the canoe may have been manufactured in 1968. The plaque on the inside of the canoe states that it is a 3 person canoe...max weight per person 150 lbs...or total max weight....persons, motor, and gear: 780 lbs. The canoe is listed at 16 feet and it actually measures 15'-10" or 190 inches in length.

I purchased this canoe over 15 years ago and never used it. I stored it on a rack, upside down, attached to my fence. I gave the canoe a washing with a scrub brush and cleaner to get off the years of outside wear. I did notice that the wood board at the stern end, where the motor would attach to, has some rot and needs replacing. That is an easy fix.

Also, the canoe has some dents, dings and scrapes from the previous owner. To me, they are not major problems, just normal use from over the years. I guess someone hit a rock or stump in the water. I suppose you could pound out the dents and polish the outside to make it look real shiny, but I will leave that to the next owner. I do not know the exact weight of the canoe, but I was able to lift and drag it myself and set it up on the saw horses without aid.

It is a two-person job, but if you park near the water, or have a dolly, you could easily use this canoe by yourself. I don't have any paddles or life jackets to go with the canoe.
