Strip Planked Canoe

Strip planked canoe - planking is western red cedar with gunwales, hog and keel strip in sapele. Hull is sheathed inside and out with 200gsm glass cloth and epoxy. Seats are both ash with cane webbing and epoxy sealed. Varnished inside and out with four coats of yacht varnish. Two paddles made from sapele and Sitka spruce.

She had a stem and keel band fitted. Also included is a portage trolley custom made from marine ply. The lines for the canoe we're take from a friends very old Canadian style open canoe. She is just over 16' long. Boat was made by myself and finished last year.

Used twice but need to sell to make space for next project! I teach wooden boat building at Lyme Regis Boat Academy.
