Used Wenonah Ultralight Encounter Solo Canoe Made With Kevlar Aramid 38 Lbs. 17'

Up for sale is a WENONAH ULTRALIGHT ENCOUNTER KEVLAR/ARAMID LIGHTWEIGHT SOLO CANOE 38 LBS. AND 17'. Made in USA (Winona, Minnesota). '95 model according to serial number. Beautiful golden-butterscotch Kevlar color you only get from a few years of age and use with these.

Encounter Kevlar/Aramid Ultra-Lights go for $3879 and you can find photos, reviews and all the info you could possibly want online...try the Wenonah Canoe site for starters and all the other big paddle shops such as Piragis in Ely, Minnesota and Paddle People in Oregon etc. Recognized as makers of the best canoes out there. This one is used and shows some honest wear but no damage, issues, repairs and everything functions just as it should, many years of use left in her. Has the standard black aluminum trim. No mods or repairs or issues.

I would place her at 7/10 ez. Priced at a third the cost of new (dirt cheap) and with this if you use it and get a scratch or two (and you will), oh well. On a nearly $4,000 canoe, not quite the same dynamic, can ruin your day. Pick up the new Bending Branches beautiful wood 'yak paddle at huge discount as well (see other items for sale by seller, which would be perfect with this canoe) (NOTE: SOLD) and hell, I'll even deliver it to your door if you don't live too far from Reno, say 200 miles or so, for gas money. Total the cost and you still looking at a hellova steal on this boat.

Take care of it, enjoy it and store it out of the sun and you can sell it for what you paid later, perhaps more, if you want. If this doesn't sound good enuf to ya, I might suggest going with an old reliable workhorse aluminum Grumman Canoe for cheap, but weighing in at close to 3x this puppy! Also, some excellent canoe/kayak paddles posted for sale by owner (included some photos of them here, but they are for sale SEPARATELY, see other stuff for sale by seller). The all wood Bending Branches paddle goes particularly well with this canoe, but I never used it...too nice, kept it in my home to look at! NOTE: SOLD.

This has been stored inside away from sun and that is important with these. If you are getting tired of lugging a heavy boat or one that is a bit hard to get in and out of, or just wanna haul more gear and go camping, or have a few cold ones in a cooler or a pooch along, this bud...er...boat is for you. I always tell people if you ever camp with one of these always wanna tie 'em up at night...light enough they can blow away on you. That will not be a problem with a Grumman, twice as heavy and then some! No registration/license needed in Nevada for these btw.

Just have fun. P.S. In response to some questions, YES I can and will deliver this canoe to you w/ TLC over reasonable distances for gas money. Let me know where you want it delivered (nothing overnight) and I will give you the cost. Have to have this cost included in sale price of course. Also, if you are bound and determined to have this shipped you are certainly welcome to, you just have to do all the work and line up the shipping service and pay them directly and assume all liability for anything that could go amiss in transit.

I will be happy to be available with boat for pickup when & where you designate in Reno (it is in a commercial storage facility now) or drop it off at whatever shipping service you desire in Reno for a small fee. NOTE: I do have a 'shipping blanket' (sort of a lighter-duty super large furniture pad) that a 16' Perception kayak I had shipped new to me, once came wrapped in. I would be happy to wrap the canoe for you, just as they wrapped the Perception, (although the Wenonah is a bit larger than the Perception, both is length and girth), if you do decide to ship it and as mentioned, can deliver it to whatever shipper you like in Reno for a small fee. You just have to investigate what shipper and where, not hard to do on-line and pay them of course. Costs depend on where you live and shipper.

The Kevlar boat is a bit more fragile than a Perception plastic 'yak. I would think you might want to specify 'top load' only. My best advice is if you want the boat and are within driving distance to Reno just come to Reno. There is the 'best offer' option listed as well if you wanna try that, but honestly, the price is cheap if you are for real and serious on one of these. Have had a few ridiculous offers and requests for ridiculous deliveries.

No, I do not have a trip to Florida planned to bring it to you! Tax on all this has already been paid once, but you can fight with classifieds board. Remember it is never too late to have a happy childhood! Treat yourself, you likely deserve it! If you are going by Reno on I-80, be quite happy load up and meet you at exit 9, on/off ramp. Done it before with a Fender Rhodes Suitcase Rhodes. EZ breezy baby! Service with a smile is my motto! NOTE: Check out the bottom of canoe photo...nary a flaw.

This canoe has been lake used. Came from Lake Tahoe area. They don't look like this so much when they are river used! Just added another photo of bottom of boat. NOTE: Never seen the interest this canoe has generated on anything I have posted in 20+ years on classifieds board!
