This is an original 1944 RARE "LINKANOE' 15' Canoe 10pc Sectional made and designed by 'Link Aviation Devices'. This WWII Era Canoe has the original canvas on the exterior. There were only 4000 of these made between 1944 and 1948. The Linkanoe was designed , built, and named in 1944 by Edwin A.Link....the linkanoe is a sectioned canoe with a shell made of phenolic resin and a canvas cover held in place with a shock cord or snaps....assembles in 10-15 minutes.....weighs around 70 lbs ....carries up to 1000 lbs and has a 35" beam and a length of about 15' We are offering this rare piece with NO RESERVE, and buyer will pay and arrange for shipping! Rarely do these rare Canoes come up for sale!

Hello, I am curious if you got your Linkanoe sold. I have one just like it and would like to sell it. While I have the canvas that still works after replacing the shock cord with new I tried to eliminate the canvas by using waterproof tape on the joints. That was a bad idea because the tape would not stretch enough to cover all the hull curves and left small openings for water to get inside. I am in the middle of a major project to remove the tape and the tape mastic. Its a great little invention by a very interesting guy, a great memento for any surviving pilot who learned to fly instruments in one of his trainers. Thanks

hello to anyone interested in these neat canoes. I have finished striping the tape and mastic from my canoe and it is for sale for $300 with a new roll of shock cord for the canvas. Located in central Illinois and can forward pictures of the canoe apart and assenbled. I do not have the original canvas carry bags. *** or ***
