Vintage Wood Canoe - Made By Fred Reckard Rockwood Maine - Beautiful Project!

This canoe has been in our family for many years. It belonged to our father who has passed away. It was used on our family lake vacations as kids. It has been carefully stored for the past 20 years inside a tight barn. We would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it.

It was hand made by Fred Reckard of Rockwood, Maine. He was a well known builder of the Maine Guide Canoe - and only build a limited number of them. His canoes are noted for their outstanding all wooden craftsmanship. Our uncle was the original owner of this canoe, and our dad got it in the mid 1980's. We are unsure of its actual age.

It measures 20 feet, 3 inches long, and 41.5 inches at its widest. The finish is in need of restoration. It has been handled carefully, but has not seen the water in many years. There are a couple of small breaks in the finish on the bottom. We do not believe it to be water ready without some work.

We are listing this auction as local pick up only, and that we will take returns. If the winning bidder comes to pick it up and is not satisfied that it is as described, we will gladly refund money.
