Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 WaterQuest 14 foot Square stern Square back Canoe with accessories Having hired a canoe on the Norfolk Broads several years back, we bought this in 2013, planning to explore the area by water, but for various reasons, this never really happened. As a result it’s only been in the water 2 or 3 times and so is in very good condition, just a few scratches here and there. We’re in the throes of a house move now, and we realise it doesn’t make any sense to bring it with us. It’s a 14 foot WaterQuest Square Back made in the USA by KL Industries, a special version with a motor transom built in at the stern. This makes it easy to mount an outboard motor: the Rhino Cobalt 12V electric outboard we bought with it is NOT included in this sale, but does appear on another auction running at the same time as this one.
Note that the piece of wood on the rear of the canoe is simply a packer to make the outboard sit straight on the back, it’s easily removable if not needed. The canoe’s built for up to 3 people, and dimensions are 472cm long, 97cm beam, and 39cm high. It’s weight is just 38Kg, and capacity 347Kg. There are 2 paddles in very good condition included with the canoe, plus three as-new Typhoon 50N buoyancy aids with front zippers. These are the Large/XLarge size suitable for adults over 70Kg and with chest sizes 106-127cm, but in practice my 10 year old grandson wore one and it looked perfectly fine on him.
Due to its size and weight, the canoe’s only available for collection – we are near Stalham, about 12 miles north east of Norwich in the beautiful Norfolk Broads (NR27 5AZ). We’d also recommend that anyone interested comes and inspects before bidding or buying, and are at home most of the time to make that easier. We’ve always transported the canoe on roof bars, held down by ratchet straps, and have had no problems (on the few occasions we actually used it ….), so this would probably be the best way of taking it away. Payment is strictly in cash on collection at the end of the auction. I’ve tried to be as clear and honest as I can, but it must be understood that this canoe package is offered as seen and without warranty, and bidders must ensure it’s condition and suitability for their use before bidding.
As always, good communication is the key to a happy sale, so I’ll be pleased to answer any reasonable questions within my limited knowledge of this equipment, but note that I’m no expert so don’t expect too much! There’s no buy-it-now, we’re happy to let the auction run. Thanks for checking out my auction, and good luck!
