Boat Type: Canoe
I am reluctantly selling my Wenonah Aurora Royalex canoe. The canoe is in good used condition. It has the scars of use, which can be seen in the pictures. It comes with fore and aft floatation bags, black vinyl gunwales, 2 webbing seats and ash woodwork. This would make a superb family or tandem boat for lots of different conditions.
It's quite a quick boat to paddle tandem and is light enough to handle solo on dry land at around 30kg. It's certainly lighter than the current plastic alternatives available. This Royalex model is no longer available to buy new. The Royalex construction is ultra tough, abrasion resistant, UV resistant, lighter and more rigid than standard. It also has amazing structural memory which makes it ping back into shape without damage.
There is an unused paddle and an unfitted kneeling thwart along with the boat. From the Wenonah website. "We designed the Aurora for exploring, day-tripping, and moving water adventures. The Aurora is a downsized version of the Spirit II a nimble 16-foot canoe with plenty of stability and efficiency. The Aurora is shorter than the Spirit, but still carries a load.
It turns quicker in moving water and is ideal for exploring Northwoods rivers. Like the Spirit, the Aurora has an efficient hull that glides smoothly across the water, confidence-inspiring stability and predictable performance in wind and waves. There's a good reason the Aurora is among our best selling canoes.
