Thin wooden ribs are curved to support the frame and three wider wood strips complete the structure. The outside of the finished canoe was covered with a textured material and painted to resemble birch bark. Small handmade paddle is included. Peterboro canoe was named for the area around Peterboro, Ontario.

The first canoe built with European woodworking skills was perfected in the mid 1800’s. This canoe is made of Basswood, Cherry and Mahogany. It measures 16” x 2 5/8” x 1 1/5” and is in excellent condition.
