Wooden "Canadian Style" Canoe

Granta 16ft 2 or 3 person ‘Canadian’ canoe + 3 paddles, 2 adult life jackets and 1 child’s life jacket This plywood and fibreglass tape canoe was made from a kit around 1990. It was quite well used in the first ten years of its life. On one trip down the Wye, a rock gouged a hole in the bottom/side panel. This was repaired using a sealed chamfered plywood insert. Subsequently the whole underside was reinforced with a fibre glass mesh sheet and hardener supplied by Granta.

Since around 2000 it has been stored in a barn with rare occasional outings. It has been kept dry and clean and is in decent ‘shipshape’ condition. It now needs a new and enthusiastic owner who will make the most of what is a lovely and reliable boat rather than it just sitting unused in a barn. Buyer collects from near Shrewsbury in Shropshire. It is easily portable by two people and can be transported on a car with roof bars.
