17' Old Town Canoe Wood & Canvas Mint Condition Professionally Restored Ny

Selling a beautiful original 1923 17' Old Town Hardwater canoe (canoe no. 74,685) which we are told was an Old Town display boat at the eighteenth National Motor Boat Show held at Grand Central Terminal in February 1923. The canoe was professionally restored about 10 years ago and has been on display inside ever since. It is in excellent condition and is original - the original build sheet from Old Town specifies that the canoe came with the pictured floor rack, birch decks, thwarts and seats and spruce gunwales. The canoe retains its original color and design scheme - the build sheet notes the paint on the canoe was custom designed being "light brown" with a "red leaf end strip edged in white." 1, 1923, the canoe was colored and varnished on Jan. 5, 1923, revarnished on Jan. 8, 1923. We were told by the prior owner that the canoe was then shipped to New York to be an Old Town display model at the 1923 New York boat show which was held at Grand Central Terminal at the end of February 1923. On March 17, 1923 the canoe was shipped to the S H Berry Hardware Co.
