This canoe is branded as Old Town and was manufactured in the United States, ensuring a sturdy and reliable vessel. It is constructed from Royalex which is indestructible and lightweight. ( also inherently buoyant) easy to carry and cartop if solo .

As a canoe instructor I have paddled many models of open canoe and the Charles River 163 is my absolute favourite. It has excellent secondary stability making it really suitable for rough water . I paddle it solo and it handles really well. We have it decked out with central buoyancy (this can easily be removed if you need more space) ensuring that the canoe remains buoyant and paddleable even if swamped.

Bang plates are fitted bow and stern to prolong the life of the hull. These are sacrificial and can be replaced when needed keeping the canoe material in good shape for ever. Whether you're a seasoned paddler or just starting out, this canoe is a great choice for exploring the great outdoors. I would say the boat is in really good condition with only a small amount of the usual scratches on the bottom. Please give my canoe a good home .
