New 2012 Old Town Wood Canoe 16' Guide Mint Condition! Never Seen Water

The 76 pound 16' Guide is a classic all American wood canoe from the most famous canoe manufacture in America. Hand Built in Maine, Old Town has been in business for over 100 years now. This canoe can still be purchased from the factory at retail price of $9900, but they are built one at a time and only done on a preorder basis.

I personally removed the factory wrapping on this canoe and immediately placed it in my newly built garage and hung it up from the ceiling with manila rope. It is priceless, mint condition, without a single scratch. There just isn't any better. This is a piece of history, and the craftsmen that used to make these canoes are mostly gone. Today, they, like all others, are making fiberglass and other canoes in order to keep the factory open and workers employed.

It is very rare a newly built wood canoe is made as it takes about six months to complete and dry. The seats are cane, the wood is beautiful. I have been criticized for not taking it out in the water as that is what it was built for, but that, to me, is like taking a Rembrant and spray painting over it. This is a fine piece of art, and I prefer it be preserved, but those who purchase it must make those decisions for themselves. Price is slightly negotiable.
