Old Town Canoe 1955 15' Cs Grade 50# Lightweight

For sale is a restored 1955 Old Town 50#, 15' CS (Common Sense) grade canoe. This canoe spent most of its life in storage, and was lovingly cared for and stored indoors. It is 100% ready for use. The 15' lightweight is a very desireable canoe because of its light carrying weight and beautiful lines. It has cedar planking, ribs, spruce gunnels and ash decks.

I have attached a photo of its build sheet from Old Town. The serial number on the canoe matches this build sheet. It has a "light restoration"- meaning, it wasn't stripped of its patina, and all of the original hardware, and wood as possible was retained. It has 10oz canvas, Kirbys oil based filler, Kirbys "Blind Green" enamel finish. Wood is in excellent condition.

There was one small section of repaired planking. See photo. The ribs were repaired on the back side, and are structurally sound. The original decal was retained, the thwarts were recaned and the interior has 4 coats of Epiphanes varnish applied. It is a very beautiful canoe, lightweight and is excellent condition.

Has been used a handful of times since recanvassing. Canoe has a factory full length keel, and bronze strip from end to end. There are no non factory holes or attachments that have ever been done to this canoe. Truly a rarity. Item must be picked up in Saltsburg PA, or within a 40 mile radius of my location.
