Re-listed due to time-waster. Old Town Canoe - Discovery 169. Condition is Used. COLLECTION ONLY The canoe is well used and has some of the usual scrapes and bumps you might expect. Defects One of the wooden stiffener bars has been replaced with a DIY strut.

The inner lining has been split and repaired with a plastic weld covered in high adhesion Gorilla tape. The outer hull is fine and the inner split has never leaked. The three-layer construction has worked well. Quite a few scratches and some inward bowing on the bottom of the hull. The canoe still handles well, despite this.

The good bits: Well, if you know your canoes, this is a Discovery 169, a really solid, dependable, stable canoe. It should have years of use ahead of it, despite its age (25+ years). The only reason I'm selling it is that changed circumstances mean I don't use it enough to justify keeping it. These canoes have a big load carrying capacity – I've had two large adults and two teenagers in it (using clip-in seats). Dimensions: length 16ft 9in (5.1 m) x beam 3ft 1in (92 cm) weight about 39 kg Bow and stern plates to protect the hull when beaching.

A forward watertight locker that also acts as a buoyancy tank. Rear inflatable buoyancy bag. Bow and stern ropes for manoeuvring and tethering the canoe. Two built in plastic moulded seats. Knee pads in the centre for those who like to kneel when paddling.
