Osprey 140 Old Town Canoe, Angler's Edition. Also includes a foldable anchor, an anchor deployment system that can be attached to the front, a rod holder that can be placed in front of either the rear seat or the front, and a convenient bag system - one to be attached in front of the rear seat, another that can be attached in front of the front seat. I have added carabiner clips to make attachment more efficient but I only include 4 of carabiners, not 8. The two molded plastic seats have back rests that can be attached. I also include an old but good Carlisle paddle and a large dry bag that is in good condition.
Made of durable, lightweight Royalex. They stopped producing Royalex in 2014. It is durable, lightweight, and unlike Kelvar does no shatter when hitting a rock. It tends to bounce back into its original shape.Length: 14′Width: 38.5″ / 97.8 cmWidth at 4″ Waterline: 36″ / 91.4 cmBow Height: 19″ / 48.3 cmDepth: 13″ / 33 cmWeight: 57 lbs / 25.9 kgMax Load Range: 950-1000 lbs / 430.9-453.6 kg Hull CharacteristicsBottom: Shallow ArchSides: StraightRocker: Minimum From Google: Are Royalex canoes any good? Fiberglass and Kevlar canoes were stiffer, lighter and more efficient, but when it came to toughness, nothing compared to Royalex.
That toughness made Royalex THE choice for whitewater canoes, but also made it a favorite among recreational paddlers, especially families looking for an affordable, low maintenance canoe. From Google: What happened to Royalex canoes? Royalex was a composite material comprising of an outer layer of vinyl and hard acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plastic (ABS) and an inner layer of ABS foam. The layers are bonded by heat treatment. It was used to manufacture durable, mid-priced canoes.
Its supplier closed out production of the material in 2014. Buyer must arrange for local pickup. I am home most of the time to coordinate this.
