Old Town Canoe Wood And Canvas 17/18 Ft. Most Of Sailing Rigging Included.

A very nice wood and canvas Old Town Canoe probably purchased in the late 60's to mid 70's. Serial number 164280. It measures at least 17 feet. It is very heavy. Lots of extras!

The interior is beautifully finished wood. The deep green exterior over the canvas has many scratches and some serious abrasions. The coating is separating along the join from the bottom section to the edge that bumps out along the length (sponson?). I am unfamiliar with whether these faults can be repaired, or if that layer must be wholly replaced. It has been unused for at least 30 years.My grandfather sailed it in fresh water here in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

It has a mast and complete sail, but the cloth has mouse damage of stains and at least one small hole. The sail has the wood inserts. There is one piece of wood that might be a rudder, but no apparatus to connect it to the stern. There are no leeboards. There is a mast seat with intact caning.

There is another caned seat for the stern, and a rowing seat with foot rest that has been repaired with duct tape. There is a slatted back rest. There are three canoe oars and two rowing oars, and two detachable brass oar locks. This item is available for pick up in Yarmouth, Massachusetts only.
