That's how Old Town's 1903 catalogue described our then-new Charles River canoe, and we believe those words ring just as true today. The Charles River combines yesterday's classic design, flared with tumblehome cross-section, and contemporary materials to provide performance with greater durability and less weight, giving intermediate to advanced paddlers a canoe that matches the 'ideal canoe' picture in their minds with performance they've dreamed of.Black vinyl gunwalesNylon web seatsPolyethylene decks with grab handlesAsh thwart and yokeDurable, yet lightweight We have owned this canoe for a few years now and used it almost exclusively on lochs and rivers in and around the Trossochs, we have not had it from new so don't know exactly how old it is but it is still in excellent conditions both inside and out. We are the 2nd owners and it is most definitely NOT an ex-hire canoe). This has been a wonderful canoe to own and paddle and as you will see from the pics has been used throughout the year!
This is such an easy canoe to paddle and carry to and from the water, and fits easily of the roof bars of a regular hatchback car. The sale will includes the front and rear inflatable float bags. I see from the Old Town website that these are no longer made so a chance to buy a 'classic' canoe ready for any future adventure. FREE delivery to the winning bidder (withing a 50 mile radius of Dunblane), I will attach a few more close up picks of the canoe later but wanted to get it posted ASAP. PS Model (Wife) not included in sale.
