10 year old Charles River canoe by Old Town. Hasn't been paddled for over four years but has been dry stored and protected from sunlight. This canoe has been fitted with flotation blocks at the bow and stern decks and laced below the gunwales for securing loads inside. Two painters for mooring or lining downstream are fitted at bow and stern using floating rope. I've paddled on rivers, lakes, lochs and even the sea around the Ardnamurchan point in Scotland in this canoe so to say it is versatile is an understatement.
Regularly paddled down grade 3 white water on the Derwent in Derbyshire. I'm throwing in three good paddles and a dry barrel plus two dry bags for multi day trips. The paddles are a Carlisle touring paddle length 54", red Ainsworth white water 56" and black Ainsworth 54". Here's the spec . Material: 3 layer polyethylene Length: 15'8" /4.8m Width: 35" / 88.9cm Bow height 24" / 61cm Depth 14" / 35.6cm Weight 80lbs / 36.3kg Full load capacity 1,100lbs / 499kgs Black vinyl gunwales. Nylon web seats .
Polyethylene decks with grab handles. Ash kneeling thwart and ash carrying yoke. Finally, I've tried my best to show the scrapes and scratches on the keel , it's been to a lot of interesting places and these marks represent a well used boat that has a lot of use left in it.
