Old Town Discovery 158 Canadian Canoe Excellent Condition With Paddles And Cover

This is a great Old Town Discovery 158 Canadian Canoe, from Maine, USA. It is a lovely red colour and is complete with User Manual, Manufacturer's Statement of Origin Certificate (including serial number), two Grey Owl light wood paddles (57" and 60" long), bespoke green cover and two Endless River Air Bags with webbing to hold them in place. Free-standing storage trestles are available too if required. Also selling a child's life jacket - see other listing. It was bought new and has been well looked after, properly stored upside down on its gunwales on trestles, protected from weather with a bespoke green cover.

It is a sound, watertight vessel. It has some scratches on the underside from normal use, but no flat spots or dents and has never required any repair. It has carry handles at each end, an ash carry thwart, and ash webbed seats. We have had loads of fun paddling this great canoe. It's a very stable craft, paddles nicely with loads of carrying capacity making it perfect for taking small (or big) kids as well as picnic/bbq, picnic rug, bags etc for day trips, but equally ideal for longer, multi-day trips where overnight kit is required.

We have paddled many calm rivers / inland water in East Anglia, but also used it on multi-day trips across lochs in Scotland. Selling because our kids have outgrown it and moved onto their own kayaks, and we have upgraded to a lighter canoe.
