Seating: Double
Boat Type: Canoe
For auction is my Old Town Discovery 158 canoe. I have owned this canoe for approaching 8 years now and it is in a good used condition. It does have the usual scratches and grazes to the hull entirely commensurate with its age. There is a ‘flat spot’ on the hull (see photo) which is very common with these canoes and in no way affects its use. Last summer I fitted a pair of Endless River kevlar skid plates in preparation for a long trip down the river Severn but unfortunately the trip was cancelled.
These skid plates were fitted purely for preventative reasons - there have never been any holes to the hull. There is some markings etched into one part of the gunwale - this was done before I purchased the canoe and is not very noticeable. This canoe has been really steady and easy to paddle on a number of multi-day trips I have undertaken and certainly lives up to the reputation as being one of the most popular canoes worldwide. Sadly the chances of me using the canoe have reduced significantly since my son has grown up and I am now moving across to a sit on top canoe. I will include two plastic paddles which are not in the photographs.
You are more than welcome to come and view the canoe before bidding ( I am located 3 miles off junction 12 of the M40 in Warwickshire) - adhering to social distancing will not be an issue. Please feel free to ask me any questions. Obviously this item is collection in person only. Bid in confidence on a genuine item being sold by a long standing classifieds boarder.
