Old Town Discovery 158 + Paddles + trolley An Old Town Discovery canoe. Privately owned from new. Not your typical ex centre boat advertised on here. Typically these boats are fitted with ash webbing seats but this canoe is fitted with moulded plastic seats with an integral backrest. Now I'd be the first to take these off for serious paddling but for a lazy afternoon paddle down the river with the missus.
They certainly make the boat so much more comfortable to paddle. Of course they can be removed by undoing a couple of screws and disconnecting the adjusting strap. Additionally, there is a built in drinks holder in the front seat moulding. The inside of the hull would suggest that the boat has seen very little use or been very well looked after. Naturally there are some scratches consistent with use on the outside of the hull but very little wear on the ends as is oftent the case.
I doubt that this actual boat has ever been on white water. I've tried to capture the actual wear on a couple of the pictures. The only issue of note on the hull is a single deep scratch on the back right of the hull. Aparently this was done by the previous owner accidentally catching a metal spike while lifting the the boat out of the water. Whilst the scratch is deeper than normal.
It certainly hasn't penetrated the outside skin. There is a photo of the inside of the hull to demonstrate this. Included with the sale are 2 wooden paddles. One is an Old Town paddle 57" long. The other (58.5") is unbranded A portaging trolley with quick release wheels is also included with the sale.
