Old Town Discovery 158 Red Open Canadian Canoe. With Paddles + Life Jackets.

This is our Old Town Discovery 158 Red Open Canadian Canoe. We bought it from new so we have been it’s only owners. Our boys have enjoyed trips out but it didn’t take long before they wanted their own kayaks - please see other listings!). We bought this size of canoe to fit 2 adults and 3 children. It can be paddled by one adult (from the back seat), two adults and various ‘helpers.’ We generally used 2 people to carry it but the central yoke allows one person to carry it by themselves if needed (amazing balance point).

I didn’t do this but my husband did. We have only used it in the River Thames. Trying to count back, I think it’s only been out a maximum of 20-25 times. Generally, we went for day trips (this amounted to about 3 or 4 hours on the water by the time we had actually got everyone in the car and driven to the Thames). Once it went for an overnight camping trip with dad, one boy and all their camping kit.

It has always been washed down after use and stored in the garage. It is in excellent condition - please see the photos. There are a few light scuffs and scrapes but it has been very well looked after and carefully lifted in and out of the water (rather than pushed, pulled or scraped. Husband was very particular about this). I’ve tried to take as many photos as possible to show the condition of the hill/underneath, sides and ends/nose and tail.

It comes with 4 paddles: 2 adults paddles and 2 children’s paddles. The adult paddles are suitable for a 6’ person (paddle height approx 154cm tall) and a 5’ 4-6” person (paddle height approx 144cm tall). The 2 children’s paddles are approx 90cm tall. Our boys were between 5 and 10 years old when they used them. The two life jackets are suitable for children - weight 20-30N.

These are both new. We still have the original owners handbook so this is included too. Condition is used. Collection from High Wycombe. Please ask if you have any questions.
