(Old Town is the largest and best known American canoe manufacturer). This is an ideal family expedition or day tripping canoe for touring inland waters such as lakes, canals, lochs as well as sheltered estuaries.

This extremely popular boat tracks and glides through the water with ease. Made from polyethylene, the Discovery 164 is built to be durable and tough. It provides an efficient ride when paddling longer distances, even when fully loaded with gear. The Old Town Discovery 164 has true touring lines with extra width at midships for additional stability. The perfect family canoe or for those planning more extended canoeing trips.

This particular boat has dark stained wood framed “rattan style” woven seats, vinyl gunwales, polyethylene decks with wooden grab handles, carrying yoke and thwart. It is possible to purchase separately and fit an additional seat in the middle of the boat but when we have used it for family trips the children have just sat on the floor of the boat with no issues. Condition: The canoe has been used but is in very good condition, it has the usual scratches and a couple of knocks from launching and catching rocks when running rivers but is perfectly sound and water tight. The wooden carry handles have just been replaced and the rest of the woodwork given a fresh coat of oil. Included with the Canoe are 2 x adult and 1 x child’s paddles plus 1 x adult and 2 x children’s buoyancy aids making a great starter kit to get you immediately on the water for your first adventure.
