Old Town Otaca Or Hw 17" Canoe

Up for your consideration is a Pre- 1920’s Old town canoe. I have spent many hours researching this item and due to a previous restoration, the Serial number has been sanded down and hard to identify. Based on information provided by WCHA.org website, this canoe has round seat bolts. The canoe is 17 feet long and is believed to be either HW model or and OTCA. There were few options for 17-foot canoes pre-1920.

This has some interesting history as it commandeered by a local police department to help rescue people in the Flood of 1955 in Ma and was damaged. The bow was repaired and we believe that’s when the Serial numbers were sanded off. This is a great piece of history that should go to an Old Town enthusiast. This Canoe is will need a full restoration. I’m selling this for a friend so please allow time for responses.
