Must be within 2 weeks of payment. Will not store canoe for more than two weeks. This 17', 1916 Old Town OTCA was a barn find in PA within a few miles from its original delivery location of Harrisburg in 1917. With a little research at the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association I was able to use the serial number to track down a copy of the original 1916 build sheet. Please see in pictures.

I have paddled it for a number of years and started a partial restore but have too many projects to finish it. I was told that it was fiber-glassed in the late 60s. I last paddled it in 2017 at which time I began to partially restore the canoe, see pictures. The full hardwood keel (two curved end pieces and a 16' solid hardwood keel) has been removed and I began sanding fiberglass for repaint. The original keel, brass screws as well as new brass stem bands and bedding compound from Northwoods Canoe Co come with it.

You could repaint the fiberglass and reinstall the keel to enjoy paddling this 102 year old canoe or you could go for a full restore and remove the fiberglass to restore it to its original canvas. You might also simply put it on display as is. Pictures with the PA registration and duck painting provided are previous to sanding and keel removal. Pictures of its current condition sanded and without a keel are also provided. A number of repairs had been made over the years to the ribs as is visible in the pictures.

Do some research and you will find that there are not many this old in this condition still out there. I hate to see it go but would love to know someone else will give it the attention it deserves.
