Open Canoe-Old Town Discovery 16:9 (Disco ‘69). Our faithful 16’9”Old Town Canadian Canoe. This has been our family favourite for many years providing endless summer fun. Alas the kids are now grown up and we are looking to down size. No one built canoes quite like Old Town and this beast has been an absolute workhorse; it’s rare to see one on the market.

With the ability to carry well over 500kg, it’s in a well used condition as seen from the pictures. The bottom is full of scratches and scrapes but the integrity of the canoe is still perfect and the inside is spotless. It has a small repair to the front (as seen in the picture) that was to smooth out a small indentation. The skin has never been compromised. New buoyancy triangles fitted this year.

Currently 2 seats, but big enough to have 2 adults and 2 children on board. We used to have a large seat in the middle, where the carrying thwart is now, where the kids could sit side by side. It’s an easy fix should you wish to put more seats in. The canoe comes with 4 first class wooden paddles, 3 Harmony and 1 Grey Owl Otters Tail, all in excellent condition, and recently re-varnished. 1 Harmony paddle has some chips and dents on the bottom edge (as shown in picture).

These paddles alone would cost over £400. Can also throw in 2 adult and 1 child’s personal buoyancy aids to get you on the water (sorry 2nd child’s one needed to be scrapped). This is a reluctant sale of a much loved canoe. It has many many years of life left and we hope that it can provide another family with lots of great adventures.
