15 Ft Cedar Strip Canoe Built From Bear Mountain Boatworks Kit

15 ft Cedar Strip Canoe with two paddlesA smooth paddler only lightly usedBuilt from Bear Mountain Boatworks Kit, this cedar strip was built using tongue and groove cedar strips then covered with fiberglass and epoxy with additional layers of marine varnish. The fiberglass / epoxy method creates a lightweight but very strong structure without a need for internal ribs. Additional work includes dishing, shaping and rounding the ash wood shoulder-rest for comfort. Shaping and rounding the white ash gunwales, replacing the cane seating with leather woven in cane seat fashion and other handiwork. Includes two paddles.

A 54" Bending Branches brand Expedition Plus with Rockguard tip and a standard 52" paddle with palm grip Structure is very sound. Cosmetically this shows surface scratches in the varnish. There is an epoxy / fiberglass bubble on the bottom. The surface is very glossy but does show some clouding in areas believed due to application of fiberglass/epoxy or varnish application during a high humidity period. Please refer to photos for visuals of some of the scratches and overall condition.

I've been unable to use this for many years due to leg joint issues so it's time to find this Canoe a good home.
