Cedar Strip Canoe

Beautiful boat, hand-built, 5 metres long, nearly a metre wide, flat bottom, so very shallow draft.Cedar strip construction strengthened by a layer of glass fibre and epoxy inside and out, with extra layer at bottom of hull. The frames of the cane seats, bulwarks and central thwart are ash, with a fitting in the thwart for a mast.Cedar and ash long paddle enables standing paddling if you prefer it, she's very stable. I have had 6 people and a dog in her on the river, no problem but somewhat slower (4 of the people were kids).There is a throw line easy to reach under the thwart, and a long line fore and aft for mooring, fixed low down on the hull through sealed tubes, all watertight of course.Fits well on a roof rack, and can be lifted onto shoulders or the car roof by one person.There is so often a bit of wind on the water that I made a simple sail, and it's an exhilarating delight to speed along downwind sitting back with the paddle behind you for steerage! Not much use upwind of course, no keel so no use trying to tack."Collection in person" means you can have it delivered if you arrange and pay for that.Thanks for looking!
