Classic Cedarwood Canadian Canoe And Trailer For Restoration 16'

Classic 16 feet Cedarwood Canadian Canoe for Restoration with a as new custom Road Trailer.Named Asperrima, this canoe came originally from Chapmans of Perterborough Ontario and ended up on the River Thames in Teddington.I have no idea of its age but it certainly has some history. I did do some research through the The Canadian Canoe Museum in Ontario who suspect my canoe was built between the mid 19th, mid 20th century and Chapmans may have been a retailer not the manufacturer. The manufacturer was more than likely the Peterborough Canoe Company It is now in need of careful and proper restoration by a keen enthusiast. Some of the spars need replacing and the keel needs repairing in several places, but it is dry and been kept undercover. The red paint on the bottom has been partially stripped.May need to be viewed, Hampton Court, Surrey or I can send more pictures and video The galvanized road trailer was custom made by R M Trailers in Hampshire and was only used a few times when originally purchased in 2004, it cost £427 new.
