Dugout Canoe

For the most part the pictures speak for themselves... this canoe is awesome. I had a great time with friends and family on it's "maiden" voyage. It surpassed all expectations. This was my first dugout canoe build, and it was a lot of fun (and work) to make. I was curious as to what the weight capacity would be, how it would balance in the water, and if it would handle well in the water.

Certainly, it doesn't behave like a modern material craft but it more than gets the job done. The turning is more responsive than you might think, and it is very stable in the water. Now I (green shirt) weigh 285 lbs and you can see how well it held me and another person, and we comfortably fit 3 people in it.
