Gunter Sailing Rig Mast Step, This unit Fits the Grumman Canoe, Billet CNC Machined. Condition is "New". Shipped with USPS First Class. As per photos Replacement Mast Step for Grumman Canoes. Used with the Gunter Sailing Rig.

CNC machined out of 6061 Billet Aluminum. Will be shipped with qty: 4, 10-32 slotted stainless steel machine screws and nuts. I have also ordered aluminum screws in bulk and will have them in a few days- I would up charge the sale by $5 for the alum screws instead of the SS screws (that length of screw was not cheap). Please let me invoice you for that up charge. I needed one Step to complete a sailing rig I am getting ready for listing and I figured why not make a lot of them and see how they sell.

From my research they are very rare. The original step was a casting and over time these get stressed out and fatigued. I designed this unit with thicker walls and a thicker base height. It also has draft or taper on the inside walls to match the taper on the mast. This spreads the forces out during heavy wind conditions.

It also prevents stress risers which could lead to failure over time. The inside corners are radiused to also prevent stress risers. This unit should give you many years of trouble free service. Maybe a good time to order a spare unit for your rig! All the Mast Steps I have looked at where mostly in very rough shape… Thanks John D8 Below is feedback I received from an avid Grumman Canoe sailor.

He has four sailing canoes and many decades of sailing experience. I sent him a Mast Step for evaluation: This mast step is fantastic. Much higher quality than the original cast ones. I wish this guy could do for Grumman rudder adapters what he did for mast steps. BTW, this works with any Grumman sail rig including my 45 sq. ft.
