Handbuilt Woodstrip Fiberglass Epoxy Canoe

This is a 16' western red cedar and sitka spruce woodstrip fiberglass canoe, built with the West Systems Epoxy resin system in 1975. The canoe was used extensively on rivers across the US from Utah to Michigan and was restored in July of 2022 to near original condition. It is a used boat and so does have some imperfections but it is sound and strong for use on up to class 2 rivers and flat water of any kind. The boat weighs approximately 65 pounds, can be carried by one person or two easily for portaging and launching. It can hold more than enough cargo for 2 people on a week-long float and camp trip Wherever I have taken this canoe, it has attracted attention with boaters often asking if they could buy it.

I can no longer use it as I live in Arizona and have little in the way of rivers to use it on. This boat has a history of over 4000 river miles and even participated in a re-enactment of the Robert Sieur De La Salle expedition in 1975 on the St. Josephs River in Northern Indiana near South Bend. New boats of this type and construction are advertised for sale at over $6000. I am willing to sell this one as is for $4500.
